The Problem
Subscriptions are almost standard in the health and wellness space, particularly with personal nutrition and supplements. Because successful treatment for customers relies on ongoing replenishment, having the opportunity to "set it and forget it" is a major convenience for customers.

When system integrator Blue Fish Group was tasked with finding a robust subscription management tool for their client — Texas Supplements — they knew PowerSync's mPower solution for Magento would not let them down.

"We started talking to Texas Supplements about subscription options. We had worked with a few different solutions out in the marketplace over the years but none of them were really great experiences," said Terence McDevitt, a solution architect for Blue Fish Group.

Other options either lacked in functionality or support, he said. Soon thereafter, he stumbled upon a demo for PowerSync's mPower Subscription Management Solution for Magento. When CEO, Igor Krasnykh, walked him through the mPower demo showcasing the vairiable subscription periods, customer-led account management, and billing automation (including error automation) -- McDevitt knew he had stumbled on something special.
The Solution
"I knew right away that was exactly the kind of thing we wanted," McDevitt said. "I could tell from the demo that the features and the products were pretty much in line with what our client wanted. When we looked at the different offerings that are out there, I mean, certainly yours stood out in terms of the investment required."

McDevitt said he was also impressed by the responsiveness of the PowerSync team, a sentiment that was echoed by his colleague, Zeke Woollett, a senior product manager at Blue Fish Group.

"I would say that it feels like a partnership rather than just purely transactional in nature," Woollett said. "That's how I would phrase it. Your goal is not to get us off the phone as quickly as possible; your goal is to actually solve the problem."

Now, Blue Fish Group's client, TXS (Texas Supplements) has the flexibility to customize and configure the products to their liking. Meanwhile shoppers can manage and modify subscriptions without repeating the purchasing process.

In the personal nutrition space, people just have a hard time remembering that they need to keep on top of it, right? And so they recognize that having an auto-ship program in place would just help people sort of set it and forget it and not have to worry about, you know, do I need to go to QNL every month to reorder you can just set up a monthly or bi-monthly, and that's it — you don't have to worry about it.

When we started talking to Texas Supplements about subscription options, we had worked with a few different solutions out in the market place over the years, and none of them were really great experiences. They were either lacking in features or lacking in support, and so right away I saw that video you demoed the grocery store subscriptions, and I knew right away ... I was like, "Well that's exactly the kind of thing that we want to do."
