The Problem
Companies around the world are realizing the benefits of syncing Magento and Salesforce. Among them is the Canada-based organization, Protect Your Boundaries (PYB). PYB provides land and boundary consulting to homeowners, realtors, and land professionals.

Like many business executives, the leaders at Protect Your Boundaries are big fans of Salesforce CRM. Because PYB operates their business on the Magento eCommerce platform, they were looking for a way to sync data between the two systems. In particular, it was important to view real-time dashboards and reports about Magento customer data and orders within Salesforce.

At first, PYB considered building an integration in-house to sync the two systems. They mapped out the process, considering the time it would take to develop, and the inevitable quality period working out the kinks.

"We were estimating a minimum of 40 hours just to get a version out the door," said Protect Your Boundaries representative Jeff Denham. "There's no way that in that first 40 hours it would have worked the way that we needed it to work."
The Solution
"PowerSync" (referenced below) is the sub-brand of TechNWeb, which specializes in the creation of highly configurable, "out-of-the-box" software and extensions for Magento and Salesforce platforms. ,---
Working in tandem with TechNWeb (DBA PowerSync), PYB decided that the PowerSync Magento Salesforce integration made the most sense for their needs.

PowerSync's solution saves the company 10 hours of manual data entry per week, Denham said, which adds up to about 480 hours per year. It also enables them to generate substantially more revenue.

"The ability for our sales team and specifically for our CEO, who is developing a lot of personal relationships with our customers post-sale. His ability to do [a follow-up] the same day, sometimes within an hour — that has turned into tens of thousands a year for sure," Denham said.

While there are other Magento-Salesforce integrations on the market, but their trust in the PowerSync brand is what ultimately sold Protect Your Boundaries.

"There are other things that will plug into Salesforce, obviously, and then do stuff from Magento, but there's not that feeling of trust there," Denham said. "I guess part of it is perhaps your brand and your product just feels trustworthy and feels nice."
In their own words,

"The CEO (of Protect Your Boundaries) is absolutely in love with Salesforce. It was super, super important that he have all the data from the online store end up in Salesforce to generate his dashboards as reports all that sort of stuff. We were estimating a minimum of 40 hours just to get a version out the door. There's no way that in that first 40 hours it would have worked the way that we needed it to work.

The ability for our sales team and specifically for our CEO, who is developing a lot of personal relationships with our customers post-sale ... his ability to do that the same day, you know, sometimes within an hour — a follow-up, a "hey thanks for buying" ... has turned into tens of thousands a year for sure.

There are other things that will plug into Salesforce, obviously, and then do stuff from Magento, but there's not that feeling of trust there. I guess part of it is perhaps your brand and your product just feels trustworthy and feels nice."
Let's tackle your backlog, together.
Most companies spend 40-60% of their time on tasks that could be fully automated. Mostly that's because they're buried in day-to-day operations.

We've saved more than 1 million hours manual work, data entry, and quality control by augmenting dev teams around the world. Let's talk about your backlog and put together a timeline that works for you.
We will never share your information outside of our organization for any reason. Not even if they ask nicely.
