The Luxanthropy Case Study
Luxanthropy.com is a couture resale website that contributes part of the proceeds to a charity of the seller's choice. Luxanthropy CEO, Jennifer Hillman, "met" PowerSync when Hillman's developer installed the Magento integration with Quickbooks Online. For the first year, the integration seamlessly ran in the background, syncing their accounting data between Magento and Quickbooks (and saving many hours of duplicated manual data entry).

When PowerSync's customer success team checked in with LuxAnthropy for a subscription renewal, Hillman thought she was speaking to a representative from Intuit (the company that owns QuickBooks). She expressed some of her pain points and her feedback offered prompted enhancements to the integration that were not offered out of the box. During the conversation, Hillman began to realize that PowerSync specializes in supporting Magento merchants...that's when she told us what was really bothering her.

Hillman discovered that PowerSync already had an upgraded version of the Quickbooks Online integration that solved the issues she was having. She also needed to upgrade her Magento platform in order to upgrade the plug-in, and PowerSync guided her through the process.

Once the upgrades were complete, the LuxAnthropy website was still experiencing lagging speeds, which were causing customers to bounce away from the website. This was an issue, because 47% of customers expect a page to load in two seconds or less according to Akamai. Additionally, 40% of customers will abandon a website that takes more than three seconds to load.

"There's a level of frustration if the pages aren't loading as fast, and people just tend to move on to another website," Hillman said.

Krasnykh, a "Magento magician" who truly understands the ins-and-outs of the platform, offered an executive consultation to determine how to improve the site speed. While other developers were blaming the Magento platform itself for LuxAnthropy's lagging load times, Krasnykh was able to identify that the issues were completely fixable, and the PowerSync team went to work.

As a result, LuxAnthropy was able to avoid an expensive and cumbersome re-platforming process. Additionally, data shows that visitors are staying on the website longer and navigating to more pages than before. The company soon began noticing a revenue increase, and Hillman says the company is now well-positioned to scale.
